Soon, Jennifer Morrison may not just be paying How I Met Your Mother a house call, she may be calling the hitcom home.
Sources confirm to me exclusively that the House grad is among a handful of actresses in the running to play a major new love interest for Ted.
How major? Well, I don’t know if she’s the mother we’ve been waiting to meet. However, I do know that the character—a quick-witted, rabble-rousing activist who initially clashes with Ted over the planned demolition of a historic New York hotel—will appear in as many as 13 episodes this season.
Other names in the mix include Minka Kelly and Jacinda Barrett.
If Morrison hits the Mother lode, the gig would reunite her with her former employer, 20th Century Fox, the studio behind both the CBS laffer and Fox’s medical drama. And if she doesn’t get the part? At least we can look forward to seeing her on NBC’s new action-drama, Chase; she just shot an episode opposite her real-life boyfriend, Amaury Nolasco.
So, thoughts? Is the prospect of Morrison as a Mother lover too good to be true? Sound off below!
