Second good news in a row for Fox's Human Target. The comic book adaptation has received an order for 2 additional scripts before its second season has even premiered. This comes on the heels of the series' recent time slot upgrade in the aftermath of the Lone Star cancellation. Human Target, originally slotted on the low-trafficked Fridays, will now air the Wednesday 8 PM time period. It premieres on November 17. Meanwhile, CBS has picked up 2 additional episodes of veteran Rules of Engagement. The network has already done the same with How I Met Your Mother and is in the process of securing additional segments from Chuck Lorre's trio of Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory and Mike & Molly, but those orders would hinge on Lorre's blessing as the man has a pretty full plate already with 3 series of 22 episodes each. The other CBS comedy, freshman $#*! My Dad Says, just received an order for 6 additional episodes and 3 scripts.

Fox's 'Human Target' Moves To Wednesdays
In the fallout of the Lone Star cancellation, Fox's drama Human Target will move from Fridays to Wednesdays, taking over the slot originally given to Lie To Me. Lie to Me was to premiere on Nov. 10 and run in the Wednesday 8 PM slot, leading into an one-hour Hell's Kitchen. But as the crime procedural was summoned yesterday to take over the Monday 9 PM period vacated by the cancelled Lone Star staring next week, Human Target will now take its place on Wednesdays. It will premiere Nov. 17. A two-hour Hell's Kitchen will air on Nov. 10. Instead of launching Human Target's second season this past Friday as first planned, Fox held back, airing a Human Target rerun instead, followed by the season debut of The Good Guys. The network will now run House repeats in the Friday 8 PM hour.

It might not get downright catty, but envision more of a small kitten. 'Human Target' zeroes in on 'Wonderfalls' grad Tracie Thoms
Remember the episode of Ausiello TV in which Chi McBride revealed that Human Target was casting Winston’s ex, Michelle? Well, I’ve just learned exclusively that Wonderfalls and Cold Case alum Tracie Thoms has nabbed the plum part!
While the former missus will help out her onetime other half, I hear she won’t exactly be thrilled about it. Can’t blame her, either. His workaholism killed their marriage, after all.
Does Michelle maybe, just maybe, still have feelings for Winston? It’ll be hard to tell with her; she plays things close to the vest. But since the character may recur after she debuts in episode 5 (airing in November), there’s a good chance we’ll find out.
Oh, and by the by, Desperate Housewives nutjob Roger Bart also guests in the episode.

Human Target: Tahmoh Penikett, M.C. Gainey to Guest
HUMAN TARGET had some pretty sexy guest stars in its first season earlier this year, but the show is wasting no time topping itself.
Former BATTLESTAR GALACTICA actor Tahmoh Penikett will appear in HUMAN TARGET’s second season premiere.

Also, Timothy Omundson (PSYCH) will return to guest in that first fall ep.
Molly Parker (SWINGTOWN) and M.C. Gainey (LOST, JUSTIFIED) are set to guest in episode two.

'Human Target' sets its sights on 'Entourage' beauty Janet Montgomery
The estrogenizing of Human Target continues.
The Fox action-drama has tapped Entourage‘s Janet Montgomery to join the season 2 cast in a recurring role, sources confirm to me exclusively.
Montgomery will play Ames, an experienced thief who ends up assisting Chance, Winston, and Guerrero on missions.
This marks Target‘s second major female hire. As I reported last week, the awesome Indira Varma has come on board as the new team leader.
Target kicks off its second season on Sept. 24.

‘Chuck’ composer to score ‘Human Target’
"Human Target" is about to get a new sound.
"Chuck" composer Tim Jones is going to take over scoring duties on the Fox action drama for the show's second season.
Jones is taking over for Bear McCreary, who's in turn is shifting to AMC's zombie drama, "The Walking Dead." (No worries, "Chuck" fans, Jones will continue to work on the NBC show too).
This is just one of a few changes coming to the Warner Bros.-produced show. There's a new showrunner (Matthew Miller from, yup, "Chuck") and a new female main character played by Indira Varma.
The "Human Target" crew are getting ready to go out on the Comic-Con stage where they'll have some more thoughts about how S2 will evolve...
Bigger action, more cast for ‘Human Target’
Fox's "Human Target" isn't done adding to its second-season cast.
New showrunner Matthew Miller told Comic-Con that the Christopher Chance's team soon include its first female member -- and that's in addition to the group's previously announced newboss played by Indira Varma.
“We’re adding an as-yet-uncast 22-year-old woman who’s a despicable thief,” said Miller, who added that she’ll figure into Chance (Mark Valley) and Guerrero’s (Jackie Earle Haley) back stories.
Touching on having a new female boss joining the show in Varma, Chi McBride (Winston) said it would “set up a lot of great tension and great comedy.”
Miller also talked about the show's move to Friday nights, a night that's been very difficult for recent Fox genre shows.
“It’s not always the best time slot, but ‘The X-Files’ did well on Friday nights,” said of “Human Target’s” move during its hour in the spotlight at Comic-Con.
Miller, meanwhile, said his goal for the Fox series will be to “take the action elements and make them bigger” in addition to learning more about Winston and Chance.
“Every case will teach us something about one of our principals,” Miller said.
“We should learn more about our leads and resolve issues from their past.”
As an example, Miller said one episode will feature Chance protecting a woman
whose husband he killed seven years prior. “He has to protect a woman whose life
he ruined,” he told the panel, moderated by THR’s James Hibberd.
As for guest stars, Miller said Lennie James will be returning for “at least one
episode this season” in Episode 4.
“In that episode, the idea is that Baptiste is locked away in a Siberian prison
and in order to rescue a woman, Chance has to trust the person he trusts least
in the world. Baptiste will be handcuffed for almost the entire episode.”
A highlight of the panel: When McBride encouraged a fan dressed up as Guerrero
to take the stage. “I’ve seen a lot of Rorschachs (from “Watchmen”), but this is
the only Guerrero,” Haley said.
“Human Target” returns Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. on Fox. Season 1 will be available on
DVD and Blu-ray on Sept. 21.

‘Human Target’ casts ‘Rome’ veteran
Christopher Chance and his team will assist Ilsa in the show's second season opener this fall. In turn, Ilsa will purchase Chance's protection service company and become his superior -- "a female Charlie."
The boys will gain access to her financial resources, but also now have to answer to a tough boss.
"Human Target" has been an unusual show in that broadcast TV tends to skew female and nearly all (if not all) primetime shows on the major networks have regular female characters. With "Target" moving to Fridays this fall, the cast addition could help broaden the show's appeal.
On Saturday, Comic-Con fans will meet the show's cast and new showrunner, Matthew Miller.

That’s right, Jim Parsons is open to following in fellow CBS sitcom scene-stealer Neil Patrick Harris’ footsteps by guesting on Fox’s talent-magnet of a musical-comedy. “I feel like I could pop up on ‘Glee,’” Jim said – after much consideration – when I asked what other sandbox he might ever play in. As for what he can bring to the table, “I can hold a tune,” he maintains. “No one’s going to put me in an opera, but I’ve done musicals!” Gleeks, feel free to use the Comments section to suggest who Jim could play.

See, here’s the thing. Though there was talk that Trucco’s recurring run might extend into Season 3, the cold, hard fact is that he is now busy shooting ‘Facing Kate,’ the new USA Network series on which he plays the ex-husband of Sarah Shahi’s titular mediator. The word from ABC is that it’s “too soon to tell” if Trucco will be needed back, while a USA source says they probably wouldn’t be opposed to loaning him out for some ‘Castle’ closure. But one way or another, he’ll be facing a Kate, see?

Remember how a few Teases ago I said that the July 12 season opener was fine if nothing terribly special? Well, the second episode more than makes up for it. Seriously, it ranks among the TNT drama’s best hours ever. While the guest cast includes Mary McDonnell (’BSG’), Titus Welliver (’Lost’) and D.W. Moffett (’Friday Night Lights’), it’s series reg Raymond Cruz (aka Sanchez) who really gets a chance to shine. Fun fact: The DVD screener purposely omitted the episode’s “surprising” final scene, which elicited more than one expletive form me on the couch!

OK, this marks my first time ever scooping a Cartoon Network series. Here goes! Exec producer Mike Werb answers, “I won’t deny there’s chemistry between Jasper and Maggie. But whether or not they deny it is another question!” Werb goes on to reveal that upcoming episodes involve a cursed ruby and the reading of Henry’s godfather’s will, which divulges a dangerous secret.

Yes, this Tuesday’s episode wraps up the season, and the big guest star is F. Murray Abraham, playing Zack’s father. Listen to proud “son” Jeff Goldblum kvell: “The great thing about this show is that every week we get the cream of the crop, and [Abraham] is just spectacular for the role they’re written for him.” Though father and son famously do not get along, Goldblum says, “There is the possibility for some healing to take place. We’ll see what happens.”

MICKEY: Dixon and Ivy's relationship/dudeship/whatever will be seriously strained when Leo, a family friend from the U.K., comes to stay with Ivy and Laurel to do a postgraduate year at West Bev (because that happens). Everyone we talk to compares him to the protagonist of The Talented Mr. Ripley, which is definitely not a good sign.
Is Kim Dickens going to be in Treme's second season? — Lacey
ADAM: Even though Janette traded New Orleans for New York's culinary mean streets in the season finale, co-creator Eric Overmyer says the character will return in Season 2. "She'll come back and visit ... and we are going to have scenes of Janette in New York," he says. Overymyer also says he hopes to get David Morse's upstanding cop back to further explore crime in New Orleans.

Fox sets August, early September plans; "Masterchef" heads to Wednesdays
FOX has locked in its plans leading up to the launch of its 2010-11 season lineup, network sources have confirmed to the site exclusively.
It all begins - or ends so to speak - with the season finales of "Hell's Kitchen" on Tuesday, August 10 and "So You Think You Can Dance" on Wednesday, August 11 (performance) and Thursday, August 12 (results).
The following week, "Glee," "Bones," "Fringe" and "Human Target" will start to assume their fall time periods: back-to-back repeat episodes of "Glee" on Tuesday nights beginning August 17; repeats of "Bones" and "Fringe" on Thursdays starting August 26; and double encore episodes of "Human Target" on Friday nights effective September 3.
In addition, newcomer "Masterchef," following a three-week run on Tuesday nights (July 27-August 10), will shift to Wednesdays beginning August 18 to lay the groundwork for "Hell's Kitchen's" eighth season debut this fall.
Premiere dates for all of FOX's new and returning fall series will be announced later this summer.
