My Name Is Earl star Jason Lee is reuniting with the show's creator Greg Garcia on an upcoming episode of Garcia's new series, Fox's freshman comedy Raising Hope. Lee will guest star as Smokey Daniels, a washed-up rock star who is hired as the lead act at “Grocery-Palooza,” a rock concert at the supermarket where Sabrina (Shannon Woodward) works. Smokey was once Burt’s (Garret Dillahunt) musical idol, and Burt hopes to relive his rock-star years by playing backup for him at the concert. Lee now stars on TNT's Memphis Beat, which was renewed for a second season. Raising Hope was recently picked up for a full season.

Fox orders more ‘Raising Hope’
Fox has ordered the back nine episodes for "Raising Hope." The critically well regarded comedy has been helped by its strong "Glee" lead-in so far this season. No word yet on its companion series, "Running Wilde," which has struggled in the ratings.

FOX Plans Full Hour of "Raising Hope" on October 26
FOX has booked a one-hour "Raising Hope" stunt for Tuesday, October 26, network sources have confirmed to the site exclusively.
Back-to-back new episodes of the series - including its Halloween-themed installment - will air at 9:00/8:00c, leading out of "Glee's" much-ballyhooed "Rocky Horror Glee Show" episode at 8:00/7:00c.
Said move means newcomer "Running Wilde" will be pre-empted that night.

Bijou Philips Will Return to Raising Hope
Though Bijou Philips' fate appears to be cemented in the pilot of new Fox comedy Raising Hope, creator and executive producer Greg Garcia confirms to TV Guide Magazine that we will be seeing the actress again. "She comes back for an episode. We shot it last week and it was very funny," he said at the Fox's PaleyFest: Fall TV Preview Party, sponsored by TV Guide Magazine, on September 13.
Phillips plays the mother of a baby that a flawed family has to raise after she is no longer in the picture. The show follows the baby's father; 23-year-old Jimmy (Lucas Neff), his none-too-thrilled parents (Martha Plimpton and Garret Dillahunt) and his great grandmother Maw Maw (Cloris Leachman) as they take care of the new addition to their family.
While the child's mother will not be sticking around, Garcia reveals to TV Guide Magazine that he originally wanted Phillips to be a long-term part of the show.
"We actually had a version where she [stayed], but it kind of felt cleaner for the series if he just go ahead an cut it off," he says. "But we love her so we're finding ways to bring her back every once in a while."
Raising Hope premieres Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 9/8c on Fox
